Where to begin? Thank you so much for a magical day, our dream wedding came true that we worked so hard for! We fell in love with the Lakehouse Inn the first time Marina showed us the building when we were riding our \"double bike\" one weekend and invited us in. Your venue, customer service, ideas, building and design is like no other! We still can\'t believe that such a beautiful venue is right down the street from my in-laws house. Thank you Glenn, for standing outside with binoculars, checking out the rain clouds and helping to dry off the ceremony seats. I am so glad we could have our ceremony outside! We just got our wedding video and can\'t wait to watch it. Thanks again, we miss everyone!\nTara and Adam

Thank you for making our special day so amazing! We especially appreciate the time and effort of specializing our wedding cake - a strawberry tart! It was delicious! Nicole and Derek

The Lake House Inn\n\nIf you?re looking for an outdoor wedding in a beautiful setting, it doesn?t get much better than the Lake House Inn. The owner, Glenn, and his wife--who a few years ago bought the Lake House fully refurbished and redecorated this historic building to transform it into a warm and modern venue space--have thought of every last detail to ensure the couple and their guests can enjoy a really sophisticated wedding, reception and overnight stay. \n\nSome of our favorite details: a welcome beverage for guests, a wine cellar where guests can take part in a tasting during the cocktail hour, 10 sleekly appointed rooms at the Lake House for a select group of family and friends to stay the night of the wedding, a fire pit for those staying at the Lake House where they order you pizza and give you buckets of beer, and breakfast ready for you when you wake up in the morning (the homemade quiche is really tasty). \n\nBoth the backdrop, Lake Nockamixon, and the facility are wonderful, as are the staff at the inn. The catering service they use, Jeffrey Miller, definitely delivers --we got many compliments on the quality of the food from our guests. While it?s by no means inexpensive, you absolutely get what you pay for in terms of organization, professionalism and creativity. \n\nOur wedding involved an Indian and a Catholic ceremony in the same day, which posed a number of logistical challenges, but the Lake House didn?t bat an eye. Our planner, Robyn, was a real pro. She was a breeze to work with, made wonderful suggestions about food and beverage choices, was incredibly attentive and energetic, and we can?t recommend her in particular more highly. Additionally, we worked with Anthony and Revathy at Jeffrey Miller in order to create a custom hybrid menu of both Indian and new American flavors, and they were amazing. \n\nLeading up to the day, they accommodated a private tasting for us in Philadelphia and the food was fantastic. We did a group tasting too, and highly recommend that experience (which is pretty chaotic) because it gives you an honest sense of how Jeffrey Miller staff prepare and serve food in large quaniity. We appreciated that the Lake House also allowed us to drop off favors, menus, and other essentials a few days before the wedding so we weren?t hauling it all there the day of. \n\nThe nicest thing about having a wedding there is it?s all yours; the only people at the event space are there for your wedding, and it?s set off at the end of a road on a lake, so no random people walking by or peeping in to see what?s going on -- or worse, having another wedding right next door. It gives the day a really special feeling. \n\nWhile we worried about the risks that comes along with an outdoor ceremony --rain!-- we happened to be very luck with the weather on our day, but the Lake House staff was fully prepared to make a last minute change to move the entire ceremony indoors if need be. \n\nWe came out of the experience feeling really happy to have chosen the Lake House Inn and we highly recommend it. \n\n\n

Shannon,\n\nWanted you to know that we were very happy with everything (except the weather ?). You and everyone on the staff did a fantastic job, especially dealing with the uncertainty around the weather, and then the quick change around to move indoors.

\nHi Shannon!\n\nAnthony and I just got back from Hawaii yesterday and we can\'t believe how fast time has gone by! We wanted to write to you and thank you for all of your hard work and help with planning our wedding and making this day special for us. We were absolutely blown away by how amazing you and your staff were. Everything was perfect, every single detail! I didn\'t have to worry about anything that day and felt so comfortable with you having everything under control. Our guests have not stopped talking about how amazing The Lake House Inn is and how beautiful it was. They didn\'t know what to expect and when they arrived at the location they were speechless. We have been told many times that it was the best wedding they have ever been to and we are still getting phone calls, emails, and messages to this day. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The dance floor was packed the whole night and that was exactly what we wanted! Our wedding party was thrilled to stay over night after the reception and thought the rooms were awesome! We loved the fire pit and it was so nice to have that time to relax and reflect on the whole night. Waking up the next morning to a delicious breakfast was just as good! Thank you so much for running and getting my flip flops for me during the reception and for getting Anthony and I extra appetizers during cocktail hour, since they were gone when we were done pictures. Everyone could tell how much The Lake House Inn staff loves their jobs and are happy with what they are doing. I was shocked that the rain went away just in time and the sun came out at the start of our ceremony, it was perfect just as you said it would be! You were a pleasure to work with and I hope we weren\'t too much trouble for you with all of our questions everyday! :) The word has definitely been spread about how amazing this location is and I hope it brings you lots of new brides and grooms! Our photographer got about a hundred pictures to us as a sneak preview and The Lake House looks amazing in all of them, especially during the sunset and night time. They look like something out of a magazine! We couldn\'t be happier! Thank you again for everything and we are so sad it is over! It was a dream come true! Take care! Let me know if you want to see any pictures :)\n

Dear Shannon and LHI, Josh and I wanted to thank you and everyone at the Lake House Inn for a beautiful wedding day. We've recently viewed our wedding video and re-living teh day over again. And watching the details unfold was simply amazing! All the countless hours of planning were so worth it-- thank you! It is safe to say the venue is exquisite, but everyone from Jeffrey Miller to you and your staff helped make our day perfect. Both Josh and I wanted to thank you personally, above and beyond LHI because we really enjoyed working with you. You made us feel very taken care of and your attention to detail was very much appreciated. Thanks again, Katie and Josh

Dear Shannon, Thank you so much for working so hard to make our wedding day so special. From the ceremony on we were both smiling from ear to ear and we know that is in no small part due to the efforts of you and your staff. We were so lucky to have our marriage take place at the Lake House Inn and will happily reflect on the day for years to come. Best wishes, Katherine and Gabe

Robyn, Glen & the LHI Staff, I can't even explain how amazing our wedding weekend was at the LHI. After looking at every reception venue in NJ (literally) we decided to venture into PA...The minute Jehan & I stepped in the door, and then sat down with Robyn, we knew that the LHI was THE place for our fun-filled wedding! You were so accomodating and were amazing with all of our requests. I'm thrilled that we were your first super high energy fusion Pakistani American wedding!!! With Robyn and the LHI staff there, I didn't worry about ONE thing at our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding! Thank you so much again for making our day so amazing! We still hear about how different, gorgeous, unique and amazing the LHI & Staff was that weekend! Love, Ingrid & Jehan

Hi Anthia,\n\nI wanted to let you, Glenn, Kate, and Robyn know that Sean, I, and our guests had an incredible time this weekend!! \n\nIf you hadn’t noticed one of the most important things for Sean and I was to have time to actually sit back, relax, and enjoy the occasion with our closest family and friends. Your location and staff made that all possible. We feel as if we had a wedding event and not just a day! I know our families can be a handful and your entire team rolled with it and adapted. Our families kept commenting about how all of you were so nice and helpful. The gorgeous scenery, incredible facilities, and great food made it feel like a destination wedding without the long travel time. Thanks again. \n\nSean and Michelle O’Connell \n

Jordan and I could not have been happier with our choice to get married at the Lake House Inn. Our friends and family are still talking about how ours was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and people were BLOWN away by the Lake House Inn!!! We were also BLOWN away by the customer service of Glenn, Kate and Robyn. They were beyond attentive to our every need and really made us feel like king and queen on our special day. If we had to do overagain, we wouldn\'t change a thing!!! Thank you for helping to make our wedding weekend PERFECT!!!!! \nIdit and Jordan

Kevin and I are wonderful, thank you! We thought our wedding at The Lake House Inn could be described as \"stellar!\". Everything was absolutely better than we could have hoped or even dreamt of. We all had such a splendid evening - not just Kevin and I, but our parents, our bridal party and our guests. We\'ve heard nothing but the most amazing compliments from our family and friends. Including a couple of \"this is where I\'m going to give away my daughter. And there were even a few mentions of a family reunion being held at The Lake House Inn. So I would say it went really well for everyone. Not to mention the amazing rehearsal dinner, breakfasts, sandwiches by the fire the staff prepared for us. Thank You! The whole weekend was filled with memories we will cherish forever, memories we wouldn\'t have had if held anywhere else.\nJen

Dear Robyn and Glenn, What a perfect wedding day ! Despite the rain which was out of anyone's control, we wouldn't have changed a thing. The Lake House Inn is absolutely the most beautiful and perfect place for a wedding. From the picturesque lake setting, the impressive Inn and reception tent, the excellent food, and the most gracious and accomodating owner and coordinator, we couldn't have wished for more. From the day we first visited the Lake House Inn for a tour we knew we had to have our wedding there and it was all we expected and anticipated. Planning the wedding was made easy and the whole flow of the wedding day was perfect thanks to you and your staff. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, you have the best "rain" plan possible. We were still married with lake in the background and our guests never even had to break out umbrellas! We cannot thank you enough for your kindness, cooperation, and help in making our wedding day so wonderful and memorable.

Dear Robyn and the whole Lake House Inn crew, Nearly a year after our wedding, I still hear comments on how unbelievably gorgeous our wedding was at The Lake House Inn. Our guests were in awe of the jaw-dropping views of Lake Nockamixon and how beautiful the Inn is. We had a fabulous time at our wedding even though Mark wasn't in the best shape that day, we still joke about if he remembers it since he was on pain pills! haha. Our guests have been calling it the best wedding they've ever been to and they will for years to come! Thank you! -Karlene & Mark Smith

Dear Robyn, We can't possibly thank you enough for all of your help and support throughout our wedding planning process and up to the big day. Your help insuring that no detail was left undone helped to create a spectacular day for us. Everything from the food to the service to the timing of each part of the event was seamless and was executed perfectly. Not only was it an elegant affair but it was so much fun! Best of luck and thank you again. Keith & Alison
Dear Robyn
Dear Robyn, Shannon, Glenn and Staff, Thank you all so much for a wonderously glorious time! The food was excellent, the staff outstanding. What problems that cropped up (my bustle breaking-unexpected abundance of flowers from the service) were quickly solved. I just wish it could have lasted longer - just one of those events you wish would never end. People still talk about "our wedding of the year!" We both recommend all of you to everyone, and we look forward to being at your place again sometime in the future! Sincerely, Jack and Anita Hetherington

Hello Robyn, I just wanted to thank you, Glenn, and the staff of The Lake House Inn again for such a tremendous job you all did for our wedding. We had a blast!!! Everything was absolutely perfect. All of our guests are raving about the Inn and the food. They can't stop talking about how much fun they all had. You're attention to all of our details was superb. We both adore you and Anthia you two are the greatest and cutest. You were terrific to work with. I would love to have our one year anniversary party at the Inn. We need to eat our cake in style. You were absolutely right...despite the rain it was a very beautiful ceremony. The view was still great! The day and everything about it was top notch thanks to you, the staff, and Jeffery Miller catering. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!!! Sincerely, Hilerie Deutsch

We had an amazing experience at The Lake House Inn. The location was breathtaking. All of our guests commented on how beautiful it was. The staff had an abundance of patience and sensitivity, which made this special day a happening we will never forget.

When you hear, "Listen to your mother." We all tend to do the complete opposite, which in the end undoubtedly creates more havoc than needed. This experience impressed upon me that our mothers do know us best and sometimes we should just listen. In September of 2007 my mother and I drove for 2 days straight all over Maryland looking for the perfect wedding location that would accommodate Josh's request of being married by the ocean and my request to be married at an outside venue. Delaware and Pennsylvania did not seem to have as much to offer, so off we went driving across the Bay Bridge, through North East, Havre de Grace all the way to Cambridge, as well as, Annapolis. Websites are amazing, because some of the locations looked beautiful and when we arrived to tour the venue, it was hard not to chuckle at what the "ocean view" really was. It proved to be more like a moat with a teensy peak of water way in the distance. And the site came complete with a 1950's diner reception area, fully equipped with pink, plastic booths and cushioned pink chairs. One location took us 2 1/2 hours to get to and before we got out of the car, Josh (who joined us the second day) said, "Absolutely not. We are not getting marred here." That sums up Maryland in a nut shell. Before we embarked on our wedding site journey my Mom pleaded with me to look at the Lake House. "It's beautiful," she kept saying. "Did you view the website yet?" So, on the last day of our adventure the three of us considered looking at some Delaware and Pennsylvania sites, the Lake House being the final tour stop. And it was the dead end for us, because upon walking through the rustic front door and gazing at maple wood floors, refinished wood bar tops and simple black and white photos we knew this was perfect. The breathtaking views and the many, many other details just sealed the deal as we toured the venue. And when you share some tears with your Mom (and fiancé), you know this is the place to celebrate. The cake topper is that the Lake House is rented for 22 hours and the celebrations last through the night for our friends and family at a late night fire pit and breakfast the next morning. How many times do you have everyone you love in one place at one time? Very rarely and we wanted to extend that as long as possible. katieandjosh2009.com

Glenn and Robyn, This is a long overdue thank you for all that both of you did to make our wedding be truly the most magical day of our lives. Glenn--thank you for creating the most magnificent, breathtaking, beautiful, perfect, and spectacular venue. I am sure that you must be so proud of your final product. We feel so blessed to have found the LHI, and to be one of your early "customers." I can honestly say that there isn?t a single other event venue in the tri-state area that could possibly touch the beauty and sophisticated style of the LHI. You truly created a masterpiece. Robyn---thank you for attending to every little detail, for being incredibly supportive, cheerful, and helpful. Your role was crucial to making sure our wedding went smoothly, and we couldn't have been happier. We know how much behind-the-scenes stuff has to happen to have a wedding be a success, and you did a magnificent job with absolutely everything. You are amazing! We are both incredibly greateful and appreciative of all that you did. We hope you enjoy looking at these photo highlights from our wedding: www.sofianegron.blogspot.com Of course, please feel free to use any of the shots on your website! Again, thank you a million times over. Julia Bergson-Shilcock and Mike Hilbert (August 25th, 2007)

For Matt and I, we felt that The Lake House is an event location like no other we would find in the area. Six months later our guests are still talking about how beautiful and unique the location and reception was. It might be a bit of a stretch on certain budgets, but if you can make it work, it is well worth it! Specially if you go visit and fall in love with the location as Matt and I did. Glenn and Kate (owners) are wonderful people. They were just as attentive to Matt and my concerns as Robyn, who is the event planner with Jeffrey Miller catering, was. We wish everyone all the best as the events schedule up. All the Best! Matt and Jean
