ABOUT PHYSICK HOUSE

Located only three blocks south of Independence Mall, the brick, four-story Physick House is the only freestanding Federal townhouse remaining in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia. With its huge doorway fan light and its collection of French-influenced Neoclassic furnishings, the Physick House offers beautiful period rooms and a medical museum depicting the amazing career of Dr. Philip Syng Physick. Its unusually large city garden contains plants popular in the 19th century and features a winding path and grotto.

No more than 50 may be seated in the drawing rooms. Parties inside the house must be limited to 75 people. Garden events can accommodate 125.

If numbers exceed indoor capacity, a tent MUST be reserved from Landmarksí approved vendor in the event of inclement weather. There is no dancing inside the houses. Dancing, with mildly amplified music, may be done in the garden. A dance floor from Landmarksí approved vendor MUST be used. Music must end by 10pm. After 9pm volume must be lowered. Contracted starting time for events begins at the earlier of guestsí arrival or event start time. Rental fee to be paid at time of booking and will be used as the deposit to reserve your date. This booking deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.
