Plan an Elegant Jamaican Themed Wedding

If you are having your honeymoon in Jamaica or simply love the islands, perhaps a Jamaican themed wedding is a good choice to center your South Florida wedding reception around.

Here are some ideas to inspire a Jamaican themed wedding while hosting your event in South Florida:

Beverages: Red Stripe beer, rum punch signature drinks or mojitos incorporate a tropical atmosphere unique to Jamaica. In addition, consider the British tradition of tea time, since Jamaica is a Commonwealth of Great Britain. Tea service for an indoor South Florida wedding venue is a nice addition.

Entertainment: Steel drums, of course!

Décor: Focus on an islands theme with details such as palm fronds, whole coconuts, shells, palm trees illuminated with mini light strands, bamboo and tiki torches.

Perhaps, incorporate a Bob Marley quote from a song in a frame or chalkboard sign to add some Jamaican flavor without being overwhelming.

Hair: Hibiscus flowers placed in your hair is a sophisticated way to use tropical florals in your wedding. An updo with a small braid or two in the mix adds some Jamaican flair to your hair.

Invitations: Passport or airline ticket wedding invitations never get old because each couple adds their own unique details.

Party Favors: Party favors enable guests to take a little Jamaica home with them. Some ideas include woven fans, straw hats, or mini rum cakes to go!
