Planning Parties For Unusually Fun Holidays

We have all heard of those holidays we love to comment on, such as National Talk Like A Pirate Day or National Chocolate Day, and we have all been to parties, or even weddings, that celebrate our favorite holidays- Christmas, New Year's, the Fourth of July. Why not throw a party around your favorite crazy holiday, or incorporate it into your next event?

If you're a foodie, consider treating yourself and your friends to a holiday based around one of your favorite foods. National Popcorn Day is January 19; you could treat your guests to all kinds of creatively-flavored gourmet popcorn! National Ice Cream Day  is July 17, and who doesn't love ice cream? National S'mores Day is August 10; can't you just imagine ending your wedding or party making s'mores around a fire? What a great after party! The chocolate lovers among us love National Chocolate Day, October 28. Chocolate, of course, can be incorporated into any kind of party, from Viennese bars to traditional cakes and plated desserts to a party that simply all about the tasty treat. Finally, reminisce about summers at carnivals or the boardwalks of the shore with National Cotton Candy Day on December 7!

If you want to get your guests moving, or are excited by the idea of celebrating the dancers in your life, your favorite corny wedding reception dance, reminiscing about your elementary school days (did anyone else learn square dancing in gym class?) consider hosting an event around International Dance Day on April 29; National Chicken Dance Day on May 14; or National Square Dance Day on November 29.
