Book a Castle For Your Bucks County Wedding

The Mercer Museum is a unique National Historic site, with many possibilities for weddings, events and meetings in Bucks County!

The oldest parts of the Museum are the Elkins Gallery and Mercer Museum, the soaring, concrete castle ‘full of treasures’ constructed in 1913.

The elegant Elkins Art Gallery is the "dining room" of the museum. A baby grand piano and two fireplaces with mantels flank the intimate room with glowing hardwood floors. The adjoining museum, available to your guests, was built by famed historian and archeologist Dr. Henry Chapman Mercer to display more than 30,000 artifacts of early American life he had collected. The towering central atrium always garners ‘wows’ from visitors.

Seasonally, the adjoining Garden Patio Tent, overlooking the imposing Michener Art Museum, is included in your rental, offering a beautiful outdoor site for cocktails for your Bucks County wedding. The white garden tent seats up to 120 guests for dinner. Capacity in the air-conditioned Elkins Gallery, with dancing, is 80 guests for seated dinner. Combined capacity in the building and tent is 150 for dinner with dancing. The in-town village setting, Museum grounds and expansive lawn offers ample space for an al fresco wedding ceremony, unique photo sites or simply strolling away from the crowd for a quiet moment.

Keep in mind that The Great Hall and Courtyard (Green Street side) are not available during Museum hours.

However, available after 6 p.m., the impressive, contemporary The Great Hall is the newest addition to the Museum. The rental includes The Great Hall, with glass ceiling and windows overlooking the dramatically lit castle, self-guided castle tours and admission to the Changing Exhibits Gallery. The Great Hall is an impressive and rewarding location for unique wedding ceremonies and corporate events. The dynamic space can accommodate parties for up to 100 standing or 60 seated, two gracious plazas directly outside The Great Hall is also available for your event, weather permitting.

All of the venues at the Mercer Museum are truly one of a kind…providing an ambiance and experience unequaled in the Delaware Valley. Evening events are further enhanced with the dramatic state-of-the-art lighting on the towering castle. Pure memorable magic! Check out the Virtual Tour! In addition, Fonthill & Mercer were chosen top Bucks County wedding venues!
