Party Like It's....1784?

If you could go back in time, where would you go? Why not hop to Philadelphia in the 1700's with Herb Scott Catering? Picture this....

You receive a fancy, handwritten invitation in the mail, sent from the Powel House. Dressed in your best apparel a few weeks later, you walk up to a flawless brick building that has beautiful white shutters and a magnificent doorway. After stepping inside and looking around, you realize the interior's historic design, with its high ceilings, intricate architecture, and original hardwood floors. Classical music plays quietly in the background as guests take turns talking, sipping the finest champagne from sparkling glasses, and savoring exceptional hors d'oeuvres from Herb Scott Catering....

Eventually you make your way outside to the garden - the immaculate garden with the season's most luscious grass, delightful flowers, and an enchanting fountain. Night falls upon the picturesque scene before you and warm lights that resemble the stars appear. All is right as the crickets calmly wish you a goodnight.

What more could you ask for?
This is Elegance at its Finest.
Elegance for important people - like George Washington.
Now you may be wondering what George Washington has to do with anything. Herb Scott Catering recently became associated with 3 New Venues - The Powel House, The Physick House, and Grumblethorpe - and we've fallen in love with them all. Not only are our new venues beautiful in every way, but they also have fascinating histories.
The Powel House welcomed so many historic guests, including John Adams, Benjamin Rush, Marquis de Lafayette, and Ben Franklin and his daughter! Philadelphia's mayor Samuel Powel even hosted George and Martha Washington's 25th Anniversary Party there in 1784. Believe it or not, a window from Thomas Jefferson's house is now in the Physick House, where "The Father of American Surgery" once lived. And Grumblethorpe, located in historic Germantown, is a beautiful farmstead that once housed an important American family.
So why not make memories where the memorable once made memories? Let Herb Scott Catering make you a part of history by catering your event at one of these beautiful historic houses.
