Appleford Estate is a Main Line wedding venue set on 24 acres in Villanova, Pennsylvania. It’s a historic Pennsylvania farmhouse estate originally part of a William Penn land grant, serving as a wedding venue for more than 50 years. The grounds were designed by Philadelphia landscape architect Thomas Sears and function simultaneously as an arboretum and bird sanctuary. A long pine-lined driveway opens to a pond, waterfall, and weeping willow trees — the setting for most ceremonies — before arriving at the estate itself, where formal gardens, boxwood mazes, and rose gardens extend in every direction. Located minutes from I-76 and I-476, Appleford is among the most accessible estate venues on the Main Line.

Appleford's three-part experience: the estate house, tented terrace, and gardens give couples and guests distinct spaces to move through across the full arc of the celebration:

• Ceremony Site — Waterfall and weeping willow setting directly in front of the estate; the most photographed ceremony location on the property

• Gardens — Walled perennial garden, rose garden with fountained pond, boxwood maze with statuary, Medallion garden, alee of Chinese dogwood trees, and greenhouse; available for cocktail hour and portrait sessions throughout

• 2,800 sq ft Tented Flagstone Terrace — Permanently affixed from April through November; seats up to 200 with built-in dance floor, built-in sound system, ceiling and side fans, and adjustable side panels for weather flexibility

• Estate House Interior — Music Room, Pine Room, Dining Room with piano and three gas fireplaces on the first floor; Bridal Suite on the second floor; Groom's Lounge on the first floor; air-conditioned throughout

Catering

Appleford clients select from an exclusive list of eight approved caterers: Each caterer provides full setup and breakdown for the event and prepares meals in the Appleford kitchen. Clients provide their own alcohol.
