The Mask and Wig Club
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania- Grille Room: The downstairs Grille Room holds our bar along with a working fireplace and baby grand piano.
- Entire Club: Entire Club rentals add use of the Ned Rogers Theater on our second floor, which can be be set up for dining and dancing. The theater also features a stage for your band or DJ.
In Philadelphia, it would be hard to find an eating and drinking club as unique or colorful as the Mask and Wig Club. The Clubhouse’s history traces back to the early 1800s, during which time it served successively as a church, as a stable and carriage house, and as dissecting rooms for Jefferson Medical College, before being acquired by Mask and Wig in 1894.
The Clubhouse, designed by noted architect Wilson Eyre, is home to a fine collection of early Maxfield Parrish artwork and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, its distinctive atmosphere remains unchanged, though modern amenities, such as air conditioning and an elevator, have been added to improve comfort and accessibility.
The Mask and Wig Clubhouse is available for rental year round. Named Philadelphia’s Best Adults Party Venue by Philadelphia Magazine, it is an ideal venue for any social or business gathering including meetings, weddings, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, receptions, concerts, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, and theatrical productions. The Clubhouse can host groups from 40-250 people.

Had my wedding here!!! Talk about being an interesting venue, the M&W fit our needs perfectly seeing that my husband and I both work in theatre. The decor is incredible, as the entire downstairs is lined in beer steins. They have a baby grand piano that comes with the rental, too! You will have to pay a price-per-head for the bar, but do not let that scare you off, it's totally worth it! We were able to design our own bar selection, and the bartenders...oh my god, the bartenders ROCKED! All my guests raved about the bartenders!!! Kate, the house manager, is great to work with too. She really has it together and runs a smooth operation. I highly recommend the M&W as a wedding venue as there is a downstairs and upstairs available to your party, as well as dressing rooms, a bouncer, coat check and beautiful bathrooms! Not to mention it is located in one of the nicest areas in the city!
Starting at $1,250 for the Grille Room, $2,500 for the entire Club. Required staffing is an extra charge.
