For your next event, we invite you to the Powel House, a setting guaranteed to make your occasion one of lasting memories. Built over two centuries ago as a place for refined entertainment, the Powel House continues to lend itself to elegant occasions that are both beautiful and comfortable, in a location central to Philadelphia's historical district. Although two centuries old, the Powel House remains a place of memorable entertainment. Rental spaces are within museum areas. Business dinners, weddings, ceremonies, convention meetings, and office parties are enriched by the building's history and beauty. An outstanding example of Georgian architecture, the first floor's dining room and parlor adjoin the passage, featuring one of the most elegant colonial mahogany staircases. The second floor highlights the rococo ballroom, where George and Martha Washington celebrated their anniversary in 1779. Also, in the adjacent withdrawing parlor, is yet another elegant setting for cocktails, conversations, and dining.
No more than 50 may be seated in the drawing rooms.
Parties inside the house must be limited to 75 people.
Parties in the garden are limited to 100 people

Monday through Thursday anytime and Friday before 5 pm
$300 (up to 3 hours) 20 person minimum
Overtime at $100 per hour
Friday after 5 pm; Saturday before 5 pm and Sunday anytime

Prices do not include tenting fees. If numbers exceed indoor capacity, a tent MUST be reserved from Landmarksí approved vendor in the event of inclement weather.
There is no dancing inside the houses. Dancing, with mildly amplified music, may be done in the garden. A dance floor from Landmarksí approved vendor MUST be used.
Music must end by 10pm. After 9pm volume must be lowered.
Contracted starting time for events begins at the earlier of guestsí arrival or event start time.
Rental fee to be paid at time of booking and will be used as the deposit to reserve your date. This booking deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.
