From the moment we set foot at AWH, we knew this venue was for us - the beauty of the surrounding trees, the stone historic house, the light-filled tent make this venue the perfect blend of rustic and elegance. We love that the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception take place in distinct areas on all the same property. We cannot express enough how wonderful JAM Catering is, from deliciously unique farm-to-table style meals to stunning presentation. Julia, our wedding coordinator, has been so responsive and attentive, and we are grateful to her and all of the AWH team who are working to make our big day this coming September so incredible.

We are supposed to have our wedding in June and with the recent COVID situation are unsure if we will still be able to hold our wedding. The Anthony Wayne House team has been so exceptional, understanding and accomodating during this difficult and confusing time.. They were quick to address any questions or concerns I had and gave fair solutions for rebooking if we needed to. I would recommend this venue and team to anyone. They really do care about their couples.

We are getting married here this fall, and cannot wait! Not only has it been a great experience so far working with the Anthony Wayne House staff, we also had an amazing group tasting with JAM this past January. The food was thoughtful and delicious. We are really looking forward to September!

The Anthony Wayne House is a perfect location for a summer wedding! As soon as my fiancé and I arrived at the venue we knew it was meant to be. It has the perfect combination of rustic elegance that we were looking for! Even though we were there a year in advance, we had to book immediately because there were only a few spots left! The property is truly a dream come true for a wedding venue, with beautiful flowers, trees, and architecture. AWH is one of a kind venue with flexible staff that allow you to create a one of a kind wedding. We enjoyed a delicious tasting and were offered a very helpful day of wedding planner, Lauren! I would highly recommend Angela and the AWH for a wedding venue!

As soon as my fiance and I toured the Anthony Wayne House, we knew immediately that this is where our wedding needed to happen. The property is truly a dream come true for a wedding venue. We love how unique the venue is...I truly believe that the AWH is one of a kind. They offer a delicious tasting for all of the couples and a day-of coordinator who makes your wedding day much less complicated. I would highly recommend Angela and the AWH for a wedding venue, everyone has been a pleasure to work with!

My fiance and I had our menu tasting in February with Jam. When we arrived the first things that stood out to us was the presentations of each food station. Each station is so unique and detailed and has it's own theme. You can tell that Jam's main focus is the food and making it stand out. My fiance absolutely loved the build your own barbeque pulled chicken in a jar and I loved the Korean barbecue action station. Both options were both really sufficient and filling. Another awesome thing about Jam is that you can completely customize your menu so that you're not limited to short list of options. I was also really happy with he presentation of each entree, they didn't feel 'catered' at all, the food is so fresh. We meet with our day of planner next month at Anthony Wayne House to pick our final menu at and we can't wait!

I have to write to tell you about the tasting we attended in November. All that I had heard about prior to and after choosing JAM catering was how delicious the food is, and I was not disappointed. My fiancé, parents, and I attended the group tasting at the Duke Art gallery. The group tasting is unique to JAM because they basically put on a wedding for you to test and try all their finest food. From the minute we walked into the Duke Art Gallery, we were pleased by the tasteful food displays, not to mention the tasty food! There were butlered hor d'oeuvres, specialty stations, and drink stations to mimic a cocktail hour. We could also speak to Buttercup, JAM's parterning florist for those opting to go that route. Then, we were invited to take our seats, with other couples using our venue, where course after course of homestyle dishes were served for tasting. My fiancé, parents, and I were impressed by the menu creativity we experienced. We tried foods that are not your average "wedding meals" and were very surprised at how delicious everything was. With little room left in our stomachs, we were able to enjoy the limitless dessert options -- all cakes were delicious, cookies perfectly warmed, and cannolis created to taste... I could go on and on. Needless to say, we cannot wait for our wedding! If you're questioning using JAm's group tasting feature, I highly recommend signing up!

After booking our wedding venue at the Anthony Wayne House, my fiancé and I were most excited about the wedding tasting. JAM catering offers two options; private tasting or a group tasting. The group tasting happen twice a year and we were lucky to be able to experience this. Our group tasting was held at the Raquet Club, one of JAMs wedding venues. The whole event was absolutely flawless. They staged it as if it was a wedding, signature cocktail stations, cocktail hour, dinner, flower arrangements throughout, and a DJ. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by friendly faces and immediately introduced to our wedding coordinator, Barbara Ann. I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful of an event this was. From start to finish, everything was perfect! My favorite element was being seated at a table with other AWH wedding couples. We were able to share ideas and vendors and really share in the excitement of our upcoming weddings. I highly suggest JAM Catering along with their group tasting option....it was everything and more!

After getting engaged, I knew the next step would be to find the perfect venue. After lots of searching and research, I came across JAM Catering. Not only do they offer organically grown food, they have several different venues you can choose from. Each venue is a little different than the other and we completely fell in love with the Anthony Wayne House. I could not speak more highly about Angela who was friendly from the first email and calls. She made us feel like family and the entire process was beyond seamless. After looking at the venue and the space, we knew AWH was the perfect place to get married. Cannot wait for our big day!

When I proposed to my fiance, I immediately started thinking about our wedding.....and how much work it would be to get everything we wanted. We contacted a few venues and were left underwhelmed with the quality/cost ratios. You have to take out a second mortgage to get pretty furniture. When she found the Anthony Wayne House and Angela, I was skeptical. Well, that ended on our first meeting. It was all easy and zero stress from that point forward. Angela has basically become our wedding planner. She is helping us find vendors and walked us through the whole process. We went to the tasting for Jeffrey A. Miller, their caterers, and were blown away by the detail they put into everything. The food is spectacular. It is 5 star quality. Also, the tasting was free, unlike so many other caterers. Angela also showed us their newest editions, in house furniture rentals, reasonably priced. We are going to have an outside living room for our guests. If this all sounds too good to be true, just set up an appointment and get ready to book. You will if you see the place, and the pricing. Good luck with your weddings.

The Anthony Wayne House is the best kept secret in wedding venues. From the moment we pulled onto the grounds of Anthony Wayne House, we were in love all over again. We couldn't believe that we didn't find this beautiful location earlier in our planning process. From our initial request for information, Angela and her staff were immediately responsive, scheduled a tour and provided us with all of the necessary information. After our first tour of the breathtaking grounds, we booked the venue for our May wedding. We wanted a venue that combined both elegance and a rustic appeal. Our ceremony will be held outside underneath the gorgeous pergola with the beautifully manicured landscaping as our backdrop. We are then going to move into the tent for our reception which offers lovely unique farm tables, open ceiling panels to dance under the stars and plenty of charm to our wedding theme.   Jeffrey Miller Catering held a tasting last month and we were in awe with all of their creative selections and delicious pairings for every dish. The entire tasting was a wonderful experience and we left confident with our menu options. Throughout the entire process, Angela has been extremely helpful in making our dream wedding become a reality. As our wedding draws near, we know we are in good hands with Angela, Jeffrey Miller Catering and Anthony Wayne House. Highly recommend Anthony Wayne House & JAM!

Words cannot describe how incredibly pleased we are to have had our wedding at Anthony Wayne House with the Jeffrey Miller Catering team! The food and every detail in between exceeded not only our expectations, but our guests as well! Thank you for helping us to create the most amazing wedding menu, signature drink and totally awesome groom's cake. Everything was truly perfect. With love, Brianna and Danilo

We recently met with our wedding planner Lauren to discuss the menu for our wedding this coming September. She was so incredibly helpful and spent over an hour with us in person at AWH to go over everything in detail! She gave us great suggestions and really went the extra mile to make sure we got everything we asked for! I can not wait for September!

Devyn (2016-09-16)

My husband and I got married on April 16 (about a month ago) and held our reception at AWH. Words cannot do justice to how perfect and beautiful everything was. We lucked out with a gorgeous sunny day and our guests were just in love with AWH. We held a cocktail hour outside with live bluegrass music, followed by the dinner and dancing in the tent. Literally every detail was thought out and perfect, from the barn tables to the gorgeous cheese/fruit/harvest spread during cocktail hour (which I didn't even get to try aghhhhh), to the rustic handmade cake box, to the sweet and private bridal suite, to the beautifully landscaped but wild grounds, to the exceptional service and of course the DELICIOUS food. We got so many compliments from guests on the food from JAM catering (we offered beef brisket, salmon pad Thai, and black bean cake with veggies as our entree options). We knew this was the place for us because of the outdoor/indoor combination. We really wanted something outdoors and natural, laid back but organized, which AWH provided, but they also have a backup rain plan in place just in case. Luckily we didn't need it. During dinner and dancing, as the weather started to cool down after sundown, the doors of the tent were closed to keep out the cold air, but guests still had access to the outside and bonfire (which I also never saw agh! Too busy dancing). We had a very smooth planning process. We had our initial tour with Angela, who was so helpful and accommodating throughout the lead-up. At some point we were assigned to work with Lynn, one of the event managers for AWH. She was also wonderful to work with and took care of all the details and coordination leading up to the big day. Our wedding was the first of the season, and Angela even showed up during the evening to say hi and see how everything was going- so incredibly sweet. We highly highly recommend this place, it was absolutely perfect. AWH's rental is not expensive; but as JAM Catering is the exclusive caterer, that is where it gets pricey. Just so readers are aware. Luckily, my husband and I had the help of both of our parents so between the 6 of us we could afford it, but some couples might be turned away by the catering price tag. With that said, relative to the wedding industry as a whole, it is not outrageously expensive. And I can say that it was worth it- from the quality and creativity of the dishes, to the impeccable service, I wouldn't choose anything else in hindsight. JAM also gave my parents and me a private tasting after our group tasting was rescheduled due to a blizzard, forcing my fiancé to miss it because he had to get back home (out of country). Another noteworthy detail is the team's flexibility. As the couple has to provide the alcohol, you are able to return any unopened alcohol if you purchase from stores with a good return policy (Total Wines in Delaware). So just let the staff know not to open anything until it is being used. We were able to go back the day after the wedding to pick everything up (there were no events going on the next day). In short: perfect day, great staff, amazing food, beautiful venue. Highly recommended!!!

Hi Dana, I just wanted to thank you and the Jeffrey Miller team for making out wedding on the 24th completely magical! We had an amazing time, and couldn't have asked for a better day! You were so patient and relaxed all evening, and I needed that! I have been on cloud nine all week just thinking about our wedding and how perfect it was!!! Thank you so much!!! Angela, Thank you, thank you, thank you for all our hard work and help with our wedding. You were right, it flew by--thanks to your seamless organizing. Everything was exactly as we'd hoped it would be, including the weather!! Thank you so much! Katie and Greg

Words cannot describe how amazing our wedding day was. The biggest thank you to JAM catering and staff, the day was absolutely flawless. We recently had our reception at the Anthony Wayne House which is the most beautiful venue and exactly what we were looking for, rustic and romance. Not only did I love the venue when we originally chose it but they had recently updated the landscaping on the property which was quite a delightful surprise. The grounds were beautiful and made for gorgeous photos. From the day we signed a contract with JAM I had nothing but wonderful words about the entire process from start to finish. They were there for us whenever we needed anything. I could reach out for small questions about table measurments, help with menu choices, photography suggestions etc, they were there for me any step of the way and the prompt responses were greatly appreciated. Angela is an expert! She has so much to offer it was great to have her expertise helping me through decisions. She would always tell me "you have nothing to worry about we will make sure it is perfect" and she did exactly that. The day of our wedding could not have been more perfect! It called for rain all week to the day and I was so upset people would not get to enjoy the grounds for the beautiful cocktail hour I envisioned. Angela said they would keep everything as planned as long as the weather held out and they would be on top of checking the weather up to the hour to ensure this was the case. That is exactly what they did, it called for rain all day but they tracked the storm and were able to host the cocktail hour at 6pm outside and literally as they announced dinner and everyone headed into the tent the downpour came. It was quite magical, the rain did not ruin a thing, it was beautiful under the tent with the rain coming down on the clear roof. Overall everything went exactly as planned and I could not be more thankful. The meal was phenomenal, and I continuously hear about it to this day. Everyone had rave reviews about the hor d'oeuvres and main courses. JAM catering does not disappoint they go above and beyond for their couples to ensure it truly is the best day of their lives. Thank you!! Thank you!!

This is hands down one of our favorite venues to work at! As event planners, we can attest to the wonderful service provided by Angela, Lynn, and the JAM catering staff. This property has everything you could want for a beautiful outdoor event - a must see!

We can't even begin to describe how perfect Saturday was for us from beginning to end. We absolutely had a ball, and despite what everyone says about how something always goes wrong at your wedding--nothing went wrong!!! We are so happy and so thankful to you, the entire JAM team and Buttercup for making our dream wedding come true!

Emily (2015-08-25)

We just sent in our deposit and we are so pumped for our upcoming wedding! This whole planning process can be stressful but working with Angela - She worked with us to come up with the perfect menu and is handling all of the details so we don't have to worry! She prepared a timeline so we don't have to sweat the small stuff. My niece has a pretty severe peanut allergy and Angela has worked with us to ensure that everything will be taken care of to quell my concerns and give me peace of mind. I am so glad that we picked this incredible venue with JAM catering being their exclusive caterer. We are so happy working with Angela and can't wait for our special day! Thank you!

This was our first Anthony Wayne House wedding, but let me tell you that we will be back as often as possible. I mean this place blew us away! Amidst 16 acres of gorgeous greenery is the Georgian-style estate of Revolutionary War hero, General Anthony Wayne. The venue has seriously stepped up their game this year by upgrading every last aspect of the space, including a brand new tented pavilion filled with chic touches like floating/glowing mason jars. Oh and let?s not forget the to-die-for farm tables that were assembled from recycled barn wood. Keeping with the local theme, the exclusive caterer, Jeffrey Miller Catering, sources ingredients from local farms (and let me tell you, we've been talking about the food ever since!). We can honestly say that an Anthony Wayne House wedding is a serious contender for best outdoor garden themed wedding in the Philadelphia area.

We recently had our sit down with our wedding planner, Angela, and it was wonderful how prepared and thorough she was! She has removed the stress of this process by thinking everything through including the timeline which has been a big help. We are so excited for our big day when we know we are in such great hands! Thank you, Angela!

Beautiful venue, stress-free planning, and the world?s best wedding coordinator ? what more could an engaged couple ask for? Anthony Wayne House exceeded all of our expectations. I called to make an appointment to visit the property two weeks prior to our visit. Angela (the wedding coordinator at Anthony Wayne House) was unavailable when I called. Her daughter was expecting another child at any minute, and I was told Angela would receive the message that I called. Within an hour, Angela called to set up the appointment. This was one of the many signs that we found our perfect venue and the most attentive, experienced, and professional wedding coordinator ever. My fiancé and I arrived for our meeting with Angela at the Anthony Wayne House on April 11th, 2015. I would like to note that Angela called that morning to confirm our meeting. Anthony Wayne House was one of three venues we visited that weekend. Not only did I have more trouble scheduling meetings with coordinators at the other venues, but I also did not receive any confirmation phone calls or emails before we arrived. Another special touch Angela provided before we even met her. When we arrived at the venue, Angela immediately greeted us at the door. She had arrived early to open the doors and windows of the carriage house. When we walked in, the spring breeze swept through the entire house, which was showered in the morning sunlight. It was beautiful. Angela gave us a detailed tour of the grounds, explained that private tours of the Anthony Wayne House would be offered to our guests during the cocktail hour, showed us the large bathrooms (which are incredibly important when you have a large number of guests?something most couples don?t even think about when they are venue shopping), and then took us outside to the tent, where our dream reception could take place. There are a few things to mention that you may not discover when looking online. First, the entire carriage house has been renovated. It is freshly painted (a gorgeous and welcoming light blue) and has lovely hardwood floors. The venue space is large and could easily hold 200 guests for the cocktail hour in case there is rain. If it does not rain, the cocktail hour will be held outside (behind the carriage house and next to the tent). Unfortunately, the landscaping has not been completed yet, but Angela assured us it would be complete before 2016 (we will be having our wedding in September 2016). Now on to the most remarkable feature of Anthony Wayne House ? the moonlight tent! I have attached photos I took during our visit, but they definitely do not do this tent justice. Google Images can provide far better pictures of the tent. The moonlight tent took our breath away. Unlike other tents, it feels large, open, and makes you feel as though you are actually outside and surrounded by nature. I have no worries about a rainy wedding day. If it happens to rain, the tent will be perfect. If it doesn?t, the tent will still be perfect! The see-through panels on top of the tent look like glass and will be beautiful from the moment our guests enter until the end of the night dancing under the stars and moon. There are bright little lights and mason-jar lights that hang from the top of the tent and around the perimeter of its walls. They are beautiful and add the most intimate and romantic touch. The bar is conveniently located in another tent adjoining the large reception tent. A high-end polished cement provides a tasteful and unobvious floor inside the tent. As if the tent could be any more exceptional, Angela provides rustic wood farm tables and Chiavari chairs for the reception. After our thorough tour, Angela took my fiancé and I into the bridal room (inside the carriage house) to discuss what was included in the Jeffrey Miller Catering package at Anthony Wayne House. To list just a few things, we would have our own personal hors d?oeuvres chef, head chef, full-service wait-staff and bartender, a wedding coordinator (Angela), a captain the day of the event, a wedding cake (custom ordered), wedding planning advice and tips, and much, much more. Angela was not only prepared and led the conservation, but she was also happy to answer any questions we had along the way. I can tell you one thing... when you start venue shopping, there is nothing better than a wedding coordinator who explains every detail to you upfront. The next venue we visited, the coordinator basically showed us the reception room and then asked if we had any questions. Angela set the bar too high. It was impossible to find someone as professional, courteous, and experienced as her. After meeting Angela, visiting the property, and comparing Anthony Wayne House to two other venues that weekend, my fiancé and I were confident we chose the right one. We feel completely stress-free and excited to have 175-200 of our closest friends and family members celebrate one of the most important days of our lives at Anthony Wayne House.

I wanted to thank you for doing such a wonderful job on my wedding this Saturday. I couldn?t have pictured a better atmosphere, better food, or a more agreeable staff. Mostly, I just wanted to make sure to tell you what a wonderfujl job Barbara Ann did. She met me where I was, she pushed me when I needed to be pushed, and she deferred to the few things I felt strongly about and made it happen. I honestly believe that this wedding wouldn?t have gone off as smoothly or as beautifully if she hadn?t been involved. Her follow through, organization, and kindness was an unexpected pleasure. She is truly a gem. Thanks again. Liz Roggio (Conroy)

Dana, We are finally getting around to expressing how grateful we are to you and the JAM team for the wonderful wedding that you helped put on for us at Waynesborough. We can't believe how long it has taken us to write, especially as we talk about the event almost every day, even over a month afterwards! We've just been caught up with honeymoon and then getting settled into our new apartment and school semester and have barely had time to take a breather. Thanks for making the experience of organizing the wedding relaxed and fun. It was very helpful to draw on all your experience in designing the day, and we appreciate your help with all our last minute questions and requests. Thanks for your calmness and for being down to earth with us amongst all the madness! We enjoyed the evening so much and (from where we were standing at least :) it all went so seamlessly. The food was delicious, and the schedule and organizing for the evening was smooth and skilled. We really appreciate all the work and thought that you put into it. We had a wonderful day and such an amazing party, and we are very thankful for your leadership and the dedication of the staff, chefs, and all the other people involved. Please pass on our thanks to others, and keep up the good work. We'll certainly recommend JAM and Waynesborough to friends in future. Hope the rest of the summer and fall seasons are going well. Best wishes, Alex and Marian

Angela, We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out for our wedding!! It was perfect and it was everything we wanted! Thank you SO much for all of your help and patience throughout this past year. You were such a pleasure to work with and I can't thank you enough for all of your support on the day of. Thank you for everything you did to make our wedding so beautiful and flawless.

Maggie (07/26/2014)

My husband I were guests at Bob and Maggie's wedding on Saturday and I just want to tell you how much we enjoyed their wedding day at Historic Waynesborough. Historic Waynesborough is a most beautiful venue and the catering suited this venue so perfectly. The pre-ceremony beverages on the lawn, lawn games for the children, the fire pit, the plank tables, beautiful tent and so on created a wonderful setting for all to enjoy. One final note---the meal was delicious. I have rarely been able to say that after a "banquet" meal. Thank you to you and your staff for creating such a lovely setting and affair---and for providing perfect weather! Sincerely, Leslie Gaertner Wedding guest P.S. We also enjoyed our brief tour of the mansion. It is always nice to see places of history being restored and preserved for future generations to learn from and to enjoy.

My husband and I just wanted to thank the Anthony Wayne House and Lynn - who worked primarily with us - for an incredible wedding. It really was the best day of our lives. It was beautiful and the Anthony Wayne House was the PERFECT location. It was an absolute pleasure working with Lynn and Angela. Everything was so lovely. The new tent? PERFECT! The set up? Incredible? My husband and I really cannot thank you enough. It was a picturesque setting and we loved that we had the place entirely to ourselves. The fact that the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all in the same location made the day flow very easily. The tent itself has been renovated. We were the first to get married in it. It is stunning. In our pictures you can actually see the trees that extend above the skylights of the tent. Thank you, thank you and thank you!

Jay Elizabeth (2014-04-26)

Hi Sue, We were delighted with everything on Saturday! We are still receiving compliments on every level! Hi Lynn, We are just getting settled again, but I wanted to write and thank you and your staff for such an incredible evening at Waynesborough last week. All our guests commented on the beautiful setting, friendly staff, and delicious food. As far as Ty and I are concerned, it couldn't have been better--especially the cooperation of the weather! Thanks for all your help, service, and flexibility the past few months. Hope you have a great season. Best, Alisonn

Sue,nThank you so much! We had a wonderful wedding at Waynesborough. Everything was perfect and beautiful just as I had imagined. Everyone loved the event, the way the tables were set up and the food. All in all, people were happy, had a lot of fun and left happy. The trifle was a big hit and yummy on the tartlettes and mincemeat pies. Again Sue, thank you and your team for a spectacular job. You were all terrific!

Linda H (10/9/10)

I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful job at Christie and Jay's wedding on Sunday.Everything was just beautiful - the ceremony set up, the tent, the tikis, etc. - it was exactly what Christie wanted and it was more beautiful than I ever expected. The food was great too - so many people told us how much they loved it - and the captain and the staff were wonderful. Again, thank you so much Sue for everything! Michelle

Michelle K (10/10/10)

Everything was handled well from start to finish, throughout the planning process. Sue Cunnane was an amazing planner and was always there for us. It was a perfect event because of her.

Amanda and Jeff L. (7/9/10)

Sue,nThank you so much for making Alicia's day her dream come true! We had received so many calls saying this was the best wedding they had ever attended. The food was wonderful and I was amazed it was served hot. The bartenders did a wonderful job keeping up with our signature drinks and the waitstaff did not skip a beat. I was particularly impressed with your attentiveness to myself and Tony. As you have probably figured out, I have planned many weddings and it was hard to give up control for my own daughter's wedding. I felt very comfortable that things would go as planned due to your organization of the day. Thank you again, Sue, and I would not hesitate to recommend Jeffrey Miller. As a matter of fact, there were several guests at the wedding who became acquainted with the property and know many brides to be who may be interested in the venue.nRegards,nAngela

Angela D. (9/25/10)

ow. I am still basking in the wedding weekend glow. Everything was perfect on Saturday -- you are so incredibly good at what you do! It was entirely thanks to you that the ceremony and reception ran smoothly and that I felt remarkably calm before and during the wedding. Tim, my mom, and I all felt very confident that anything left in your hands would be taken care of and done right, and it absolutely was, but that's an understatement. It may be normal business for you, but we felt like you went above and beyond for us. You accommodated every request we had, were always accessible and answered questions super quickly, and you were flexible with setting up and letting us retrieve our stuff (inventory). We have been thrilled with our entire experience with you and with JAM. Of course we knew the food would be delicious, but it was still nice to hear all our guests rave about it (and to see their clean plates!) -- especially some who are in the food service business and understand how hard it is to serve 180 people meals that are hot, let alone hot, prepared perfectly, and presented artfully. Also, I thought it was noteworthy that you not only checked in with us throughout the night to see if we needed a drink etc. but that you also were right in there with the staff lighting candles and butlering microburgers. We were so impressed by and grateful for your hard work. We kept hearing the phrase "best wedding ever" -- which you know was music to my ears! -- and the fact that guests felt that way is largely thanks to you and JAM.nnThank you for everything.
