5 Modern Philadelphia Wedding Venues

New Year, new venues! As we ring in the new year, there is tangible excitement in the air for what fresh new trends and fashions 2023 will bring. Only time will tell whether this year’s weddings will be marked by venues sporting high ceilings, eclectic colors and shapes for floral arrangements, or dresses with exaggerated trains. Looking towards the grand future that 2023 and its plentiful wedding options hold, I am inspired by the wave of modernity that has swept all industries in the past few years.

Here are five modern Philadelphia wedding venues for a 2023 (or 2024!) engaged couple:

BeSpoke Home and Life Though technically on the other side of the Ben Franklin, this lush, garden venue is a mere twenty-minute train ride from Center City. BeSpoke Home and Life is not only modern in the sense that it was only built in 2019, but also considering that this venue functions as a home-decor boutique: not exactly the most traditional place to hold a wedding. Perfect for smaller weddings, as the indoor-outdoor venue currently accommodates up to 45 guests, BeSpoke Home and Life comes merchandised and with a beautiful backdrop of greenery. It’s three years old, it’s spunky, it’s in Jersey: BeSpoke Home and Life embodies 2023-esque novelty and spontaneity for any Philadelphia couple.

Photo: Lilah

Lilah A Fishtown wedding venue that comes from the minds of food geniuses Steve Cook and Michael Solomonov, Lilah, a 7,000-square-foot spot can host 250 for seated dinners and up to 350 standing. Functioning normally as an Israeli restaurant, Lilah provides wonderful food that will set your special day apart. Having opened in April of 2022, the restaurant will be a novel venue for guests both as a wedding spot and as an eatery. Additionally, its modernity is only enhanced by its inventive menu options that will amaze guests and newlyweds alike.

W Philadelphia The W Philadelphia, which saw its grand opening in the Fall of 2021, embodies modernity with its 45,000 square feet of event space and 37 event rooms that sport floor-to-ceiling windows that provide breathtaking views of the cityscape below.

The Great Room can support up to 250 guests, and in the spirit of modernity it boasts a state-of-the-art sound system and a built-in LED wall.

For newlyweds seeking to switch it up to a warmer season and move the celebrations outside, such receptions can be held in the Secret Garden or on the Wet Deck.

The W embodies contemporary style in the midst of a historical city and is the perfect event space for a wedding in 2023 and beyond.

The space’s low-hanging lights emulate a contemporary vibe that is reflected in the restaurant’s menu, sure to delight guests and newlyweds alike. Putting a twist on the classic hotel wedding, employing this brand-new venue is sure to result in a unique and tasty experience that will be reminisced upon fondly for years to come!

Townley House Hotel A boutique hotel that opened in December of 2020, Townley House Hotel sits nestled in Easton, and hosts sixteen guest rooms that are completely unique from one another. This intimate space seems as if it was designed for a smaller wedding, supporting celebrations of up to 50 guests in the bar and garden areas. Guests at a wedding hosted at Townley will undoubtedly be eating well — as the venue is a part of Enjoy With Gusto Restaurant and Hospitality Group, which owns three incredible restaurants that all cater hotel events. Barely standing for two years, bearing unique designs, and a comfortable hour and a half away from the heart of the city, Townley House Hotel will almost certainly be a novel, modern experience for all parties involved.
