Enchanting Venue from Another Time
Waterloo Village is a beautifully restored 19th Century canal town. It is a charming backdrop for any special event.
About
Waterloo Village is a treasured time capsule surrounded by tranquil beauty. It features a working mill, a general store, blacksmith shop, active church, and several beautiful historic houses.
Weddings & Capacity
Say “I do” alongside the canal waters or walk down the aisle at the Village’s wonderfully picturesque church, as brides have done for over a century. Your guests will enjoy sipping cocktails in the rustic pavilion or outside beneath the welcoming shade of the gazebo.
When it comes time for that first dance, retreat to the newly-renovated meeting house and then dance the night away on the terrace. Finally, end the night in the warm glow of the outdoor stone fireplace, roasting s’mores and admiring the brilliance of the stars overhead. Waterloo Village can host up to 240 guests.
Location
Waterloo is on the Musconetcong River at the heart of New Jersey’s Allamuchy Mountain State Park.

Reviews
Hi! I am getting married at Waterloo Village Historic Site in Stanhope, NJ (Sussex County, NJ) on July 18, 2025. Waterloo Village is a historic site that was renovated for weddings by Jeffrey A. Miller Catering Company. My fiancé and I toured venues all across the Hudson Valley and decided on Waterloo Village because of the beautiful ceremony sites and farm-to-table food. We are so excited to get married at Waterloo Village!

No, we have not gotten married at Waterloo yet, but - I do want to leave a review at this time because they have just been so wonderful to work with so far! The staff at Waterloo have been so responsive and helpful and I have felt so supported during this stressful wedding planning period. Our coordinator (provided by the venue) answers all of our questions and is helping us to make some key decisions about our event for which we needed professional guidance. Overall, my experience with them has been great and I would highly recommend working with them. We are very much looking forward to our upcoming wedding at Waterloo Village!
