Built in 1786 and located only three blocks south of Independence Mall, this four-story brick house is the only free-standing Federal townhouse remaining in Society Hill. With its huge doorway fan light (the largest in any Pennsylvania residence in 1786) plus grand proportions and straight, classical lines, Physick House is an exceptional example of the Federal style. It is decorated with outstanding examples of French-influenced Neoclassic furnishings, popular during Dr. Physick's time in the house. 

Its exceptionally large city garden features plants popular in the 19th century and features a winding path and grotto. Seated meals in the garden can accommodate up to 100 guests. Contact us today about this beautiful & historic Philadelphia wedding venue.

The Hill-Physick house was the ideal location for hosting our end-of-the-year party for my organization. The garden in the spring is so peaceful and well-maintained and it was perfect for our 70-person get together. All the staff were very responsive and helpful throughout the process.
