Reviews

My husband and I are certainly not crystal chandelier and tuxedo tail people, nor are we plain 'ol hall people. Not only did we want a venue that reflected our laid-back personalities, but we wanted our guests to experience the charm, character, and history of our adopted hometown. The Chester County Historical Society's modern elegance provided everything we could have asked for in a venue, a beautiful setting, flexibility which allowed us to plan our wedding the way we envisioned, an experienced and supportive staff, and close proximity convenient parking and downtown West Chester bars. When our guests needed a break from the dancing and photoboothing, they could linger through centuries worth of county treasures in the Historical Society's seven galleries. Our wedding was three weeks ago and our guests are still raving about how unique and memorable our wedding venue was. Melinda Wentz was an absolute dream to work with, she gave us enough space to plan our wedding at our leisure, but was available at the drop of a hat to accommodate all of our needs. I recommend the Cultural Center at the CCHS to anyone hosting their next milestone, whether it be a wedding or fundraiser, your event will definitely be one for the history books!

Our experience in holding our wedding and reception at the CCHS was one of exceptional service. We found Melinda and David personal, accommodating and primarily concerned about making sure our celebration matched our wishes. The groom's sudden medical problems which created much unpredictability and distractibility on our end only highlighted their understanding, steady support and flexibility. The lighting and sound systems were excellent and the ambiance of the historical building created a wonderful memory.

The Chester County Historical Society is a wonderful venue for many reasons: it features a beautiful lobby, outdoor patio, and spacious auditorium; you can visit the site often to plan; and wedding guests can tour the museum exhibits. Best of all, the Historical Society offers all of this at an exceptional rate, the proceeds of which support their non-profit instead of a generic wedding factory. We loved the flexibility and value that the Historical Society provided, and we found no other vendors in the Philadelphia area that offered such a beautiful, historic backdrop at a very affordable price.
