You’re engaged—congratulations! When it’s time to book your unique Chester County wedding venue, look no further than the vintage chic elegance of Columbia Station, located in quaint Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
What makes this locale so special? This unique venue was built in 1858 and served as a passenger train station serviced by the Reading Railroad until 1972. In 1982, the station was purchased and renovated into a catering facility. Robert Ryan Catering & Design took possession of The Columbia Station in 1998 and completed extensive interior and exterior renovations while preserving its historic charm.
Although The Columbia Station was built a long time ago, this timeless venue incorporates many contemporary features while showcasing aesthetic elements that are vintage yet on trend. Think vintage luxe gold glam with charm and character evident in our gold Chiavari chairs and other gold accents, smokey glass, soaring ceilings, sparkly crystal chandeliers, a dark wood dance floor and more.
This is not a cookie-cutter ballroom, though. The Chester County wedding venue draws on its history and has also incorporated subtle train station accents. In the Club Room, there are wrought iron sconces and chandeliers with gears. Our entranceway has a large arch structure with a hand-painted mural on the ceiling and a three-dimensional replica of the back of a caboose and a large crystal chandelier.
One of the reasons that The Columbia Station is so unique is the completely renovated authentic caboose located on the property. It’s perfect for a bridal suite, as a location for a private bridal party cocktail hour or as an interesting backdrop for photos.
In addition to the caboose, The Columbia Station has many other one-of-a-kind spots to take photos, including preserved train tracks and the front porch. The Schuylkill River and Canal are right next door, and downtown Phoenixville is just steps away, featuring murals, The Colonial Theater (home of The Blob) and brick alleyways.
Our location in walkable downtown Phoenixville also has its benefits. When your party is over but you don’t want to say goodbye to your guests, simply walk down our driveway into town and visit one of the many restaurants and bars such as Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, Great American Pub, Bluebird Distilling, Molly Maguire’s Irish Pub and The Fenix.
Your out-of-town guests can make a weekend of it and explore all of Phoenixville’s small-town charm. Visit the Farmers’ Market, browse art galleries and museums, take a walk along the Schuylkill River Trail and enjoy First Friday events. The Phoenixville dining scene is also top-notch. There are many events scheduled throughout the year for your guests to enjoy, too, including Blobfest, the Firebird Festival and the Phoenixville Food Festival.
